Terms of Payment

STANDARD CONTRACTUAL TERMS

These are as set out in the Bar Council’s Standard Contractual terms: https://www.barcouncilethics.co.uk/documents/contractual

PRIVATE FEE CASES

All agreed fees are in compliance with the Bar Code of conduct to be reached by agreement between the Barrister or clerks on their behalf and the Instructing Solicitor or authorised person on their behalf.

Depending on the nature of the work, fees can be fixed or charged at an hourly rate which are exclusive of Value Added Tax. Where Value Added Tax applies, this will be added on to the agreed fee. The fee structure is dependent on the nature of the hearing, advisory or piece of written work and is subject to further fees should additional work be required to take place.

Payment is to be settled within 10 working days upon the invoice being raised.

LEGAL AID CASES

We accept instructions on a publicly funded or private fee paid basis. We can only accept legal aid work/publicly funded cases where you instruct us through a firm of solicitors.
